Update........

Yes, I know I haven't posted in forever. I didn't realize it had been quite as long as it has. I've been given a lot of hours at work lately, plus studying, plus getting ready for the art show next week. I still have so much to do. My drawings are mostly finished, but all the little touch ups, that I usually take so much time with, are needed and I'm running out of time. I hope I can finish at least four by Saturday.

My school work has been going well. I've been making good grades on all my tests, but this week I had my first essay due. I was nervous about it, because it's been quite some time since I've written an essay. The course was interpersonal communication, so I had to analyze my nonverbal communication skills during two different conversations and write an essay about it. So, I analyzed and wrote an essay. I thought I met all the requirements, so I expected a decent grade, but I still didn't hope for too much. Last night, I got my grade -- 100! I was so excited. I don't think I've been given 100 for an essay before, and I got one for my first college essay! Yaayyyy!!!

Anyway, I will try very hard to post more often and find more interesting things to talk about. :)

Remember When..........

So, now that I have a scanner, I have been scanning my favorite old pictures into my computer. As if the 2500 photos already on file weren't enough! I just have to share a few of my favorites.

Me and Aunt Sherry
Me and Gabrielle

Me, Daddy, and Gabrielle. I had just got my ears pierced, so I made sure my earrings showed. :)

Curly top

On of favorite pictures ever. Me, Grandma, and Grandpa.

Baby Princess and Tom

Love this one. They meet for the first time. Tom is wondering what the little fuzzball is.

Awwwwwww
Now I have to figure out Photoshop. :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Well, yesterday I turned 23 years old. It chokes me to say that. :) Twenty-one and twenty-two didn't feel old, but 23 feels old. I'm really, definitely, officially not a kid anymore. Not even a teenager. Bordering on mid-twenties. Ouch.
When I was a teenager, I thought my life would be different by the time I was twenty-three than it has turned out to be. I'm just getting started with work, with college....I feel sort of like I'm running to catch up. I'm enjoying life right now, though, and enjoying being a student. Hopefully, when I finish this program it will open up some doors for me for a good job. Anyway, I am starting 23 feeling more hopeful than discouraged, even though the number is a little hard to swallow.
I had a really good birthday weekend, though. For starters, it was my weekend off! That was reason to be happy by itself. On Saturday, we went shopping. I asked for a printer to go with my new laptop, so my parents bought me an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. They also bought me Photoshop software. I have wanted Photoshop for sooo long. Now, I just have to figure out how to use it. I also went to the mall and picked out a dress from Aunt Sherry. It is a red corduroy dress and so cute! I love it. Gabrielle gave me a gray bead necklace, too. Then yesterday after church, we went out to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant and bought an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. It was all delicious! I spent the rest of my afternoon working with my new scanner, scanning old photos into my computer. It was a great weekend!
So, I'm hopeful that a good year is ahead of me. Maybe some changes for the best with college and jobs. New friends, new plans, new ideas......I'm kind of excited.

It's the little things in life......

I bought new Christmas ornaments last week! It was so fun to look through all the different trees and choose my favorites.

A cardinal..
A squirrel..........
A deer with her fawn..........
and a turtle! This one is for my sister.
I was also really excited to buy some new art supplies -- just some pencils, blenders, and an eraser, but still! It's going to make drawing more fun to have new supplies to work with!

I'm Tagged!!!

Kaitlyn, over at I Stand Redeemed, tagged me for this meme:

The Rules of the game are as follows:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Post the rules on your blog.
Write Six Random Things about yourself.
“Tag” six-or-so other people at the bottom of your post…
…And leave comments on their blogs, letting them know they’ve been tagged.
Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve written the post.

Okay, six random things about me:

1. I'm allergic to milk, but not ice cream
2. I'm a pack rat. A bad one. I have toys and clothes from when I was two and collections galore.
3. I love anything classic -- classic movies, classic books, classic music. If it's old, antique, or filmed in black and white, I usually like it. :)
4. I take WAY too many pictures (this one is inspired from having to upload about 400 to Walgreens last night)
5. I have to know how to make everything from quilts to cakes. If I see a new craft on a show, I'm not satisfied until I give it a try.
6. I'm not very neat. I try, but I do not succeed. It probably has something to do with a dozen projects going on at once.

Hmmm, I think pretty much all the blogs I read are already tagged. If you're reading, and you haven't been, consider yourself tagged!

My blog is dressed for fall!

And, after over a year of blogging, I finally figured out how to put a picture behind my title. Every time I tried before, the picture would be HUGE, so I would have to take it off. Funny how I never noticed to check the "shrink to fit" box before. *blushes* Oh, well. I saw it this time.

Fall is here!

I love the cool, crisp fall weather! The leaves are changing colors and the weather is perfect! I love taking walks now. In summer, it's just too hot, but now, everyday when I come home from work, I take a walk and enjoy the fresh air and breeze. So nice! I hope it stays like this for a while before the cold weather gets here.

Things I love about fall:

caramel apples
colorful leaves
cool weather
long walks
pumpkins
boots
light sweaters
jean jackets
rich colors in my closet
apple cider
county fairs
my birthday!!

Working late...

So, yesterday and tonight my schedule is 4:30 to midnight. The midnight part is no fun. I do enjoy having time off during the day, though. Yesterday was nice. I spent some time studying, worked on my drawings, and just caught up on different projects. Today, I went back to the allergy/asthma specialist for an allergy test. The test was not fun. One part involved having 16 needles stuck in my arm! The results were that I'm allergic to grass, trees, dust mites, cats, horses, milk, ragweed.....I don't even remember what else. The good news is that I'm not allergic to Princess! Not that she would have gone anywhere anyway, but it was good to know that she's not the problem! Now, I'm at home baking cookies. I think they are about ready to come out of the oven, so I better run!
